PROOF OF EFFECTIVENESS
- Doubled sales from $20M to $40M and doubled profits during the 5 years as VP of Sales & Operations for 10 western states (responsible for everything except accounting which was done at the US Corporate office).
- Responsible for acquiring a critical distribution center – costing $3.5M – storage for 40,000 tons of inventory instead of a 1,000 ton center costing $1.5M. 40 times larger & 2 railroads serving larger facility vs 1 serving small facility. Saving $million every year in competitive shipping rates & greater profits due to bidding and winning more projects with extra inventory.
- Bank denied a $60,000 increase in credit card limit to a small company. After my involvement, same bank gave them a $250,000 line of credit at prime +2.
- Changed client’s method of calculating B&O tax – resulting in refund of 40% ($14,000) for one year. Filing claims for 4 more years $40,000.
- Installed manufacturing accounting system. Company let CFO go in middle of project. On part time basis for 1 year – I lead staff and got financials current (were 5 months late when I took over). Provided timely reliable financial information and forecasts to bank resulting in critical increase in line of credit from $7M to $14M needed as sales grew from $80M to $100M.
- Part time CFO for company buying apt buildings and converting them to condos. Separate LLC’s for each bldg. Prepared company financials, reporting to owners, investors and banks, updated budgets, costs to complete, prepared future cash distributions reports (aka waterfalls) to all parties, prep for audits, and coached accounting staff.
- Assisted client in negotiating and winning a 4 year very profitable contract with government. I performed all compliance, billing, collecting, payroll and financial functions for 19 employees.
- Performed all financial functions for small general contractor – payroll, payables and all reporting (compliance and project profitability) while owner conducts daily business with a debit card. Resulted in more bids and higher profits on projects.
- Guide companies through process of cutting costs and refocusing marketing to survive. Bringing experience and perspective to determine where to focus and replace old habits with better ones.
